HAMED BAKAYOKO-"LE DEMI DIEU" OF CONGOLESE MUSICIANS

 

Born on March 08 1965 in Abidjan, Cote d' Ivoire Bakayoko was a former Prime Minister who served from July 2020 until his passing in March 2021. He has also served as Ivorian Minister of New Technologies,Information and Communication as well as Minister of Interior and Defense.

One might wonder why Hamed is widely hailed by Congolese musicians as "Le Demi Dieu". Well this legend is said to have been a great journalist during his youthful times, he has worked for radios including Nostalgie Afrique and contributed so much to the success of Congolese musicians such as Koffi Olomide,Extra Musica etc. He also headed a promotion and event organizing company called Mayama Productions which booked a couple of Congolese musicians to perform in Cote d'Ivoire.

Indeed Hamed Bakayoko is a man worth the praises and love, he shall forever rest in peace as his contributions to the growth of African music is unquestionable.
